The Chancellor's 1990 commencement address in Harvard Yard -- in the days preceding reunification. His historic call for a United States of Europe delivered at the site of General George Marshall's announcement of the Marshall Plan many years before.

Printed in German and in English.

Partnership in Liberty was set in Monotype Dante by Michael and Winifred Bixler in Skaneateles, New York. The text was printed letterpress on Arches paper on a Heidelberg flatbed press. The tritone of the Brandenburg Gate was reproduced using a three hundred-line screen by Michael Arsenault, and printed offset on a Heidelberg press by Thomas Arsenault. All of the printing was done at the Meriden-Stinehour Press in Lunenburg, Vermont. The bindings were crafted at the Spectrum Bindery in Florida, New York.

Five hundred copies have been hand-bound in Moroccan goatskin, and 1,500 copies have been hand-bound in cloth.
